Taken for The Monthly Scavenger Hunt group here on flickr. OK, so I cheated a bit and had more than one flying flag in the photo. The crisp movements of the flags against the beautiful sky were too pretty to pass up. This shot was taken outside the Gardner National Bank.

Taken for The Monthly Scavenger Hunt group here on flickr. Today was the first really beautiful and warm day of the season...hopefully the first of many, many more to come. At 6:47 tonight, it was still 69 degrees. Here's to a sunny and warm spring!

On Labor Day every year, the Gardner swimming pool has it's last hurrah of the season before closing down. The last hour of the season, they open the pool to pampered pooches. "Dog Days," as it's affectionately known, brought out easily 150 dogs and their owners this summer! Here, we see Maggy meeting Hallie, one of the four Boston Terriers we met at the pool! As we were leaving Gardner on I-35 heading to the Taylor Hicks concert on April 27, 2007, three tornado sirens sounded back to back to back. The day had been somewhat rainy and stormy, but then the Heavens appeared to open and the sun and beauty of spring returned. Almost in moments, a deadly wall cloud covered the entire Gardner city area. We snapped this shot from the road as we fled the city and headed to North Kansas City to see my Taylor. It ALMOST appeared to be rotating, but it wasn't. I just thought it was a stark and strong reminder of how beautiful yet treacherous nature can be. I wish I'd had more time to get a few more photos of the storm. mintlipgloss posted a photo:
