Visit The Iowa Wine Trail by traversing the upper Mississippi Valley wine region at Anamosa, Baldwin, Bankston, Clinton, Decorah, Lisbon, Marquette, and West Branch. Sample well-crafted wines and ciders in the comfort of excellent and diverse tasting rooms among our heritage farms and vineyards, hilltop chateau, nestled river village, and Italian bistro.
Wineries can be visited almost daily and semi-annual Special Events shouldnt be missed. At each site a winemaker is likely nearby to answer questions about growing wine using the regions special varietals. Visitors can view operations, enjoy the grounds, and sample award winning wines and sparkling ciders carrying that special Iowa taste.
Enjoy the regions designated scenic byways, alpine hills, and cold water streams full of trout. This exquisite hill country was spared recent glaciers thus leaving soils, slopes, caves and aquifers well-suited for irrigation, drainage, circulation, and sun to produce the best grapes.
The area is adorned with landscapes as selected by Artist of the Heartland, Grant Wood. We know you would enjoy the hospitality of the trails bed & breakfast partners, so consider staying the weekend.

Here is the 2008 version of Where in Iowa is Jeff? From February to November, I logged 9,850 miles and collected 300 dancing clips. Between the 2007 and 2008 videos, I visited all 99 Iowa counties and drove somewhere between 15,000 and 18,000 miles.
Since last year focused on the top-tier Iowa spots, this years video visits more obscure Iowa places and enabled me to interact more with Iowans along the way. If you think you've seen all of Iowa, you are wrong. Keep looking; you'll be amazed at what you find.

Here's a snippet of the KMB set from the 2008 Pumpkinfest in Anamosa, IA. Performers are
Jesse Albaugh, Shaun Renken, and Isaac Helgens.
Note:
Let me say that I love Pumpkinfest, it's a neat little festival in our small community. However, this year the music portion was severely hampered by a number of factors. A PA that showed up late, no power to the venue, a mix in the audience that was lacking, the list went on. Due to the time constraints we were stuck playing a short set, I had to play on an unfamiliar kit (of my normal setup I had only my hi-hat, Tama Metalworks snare, pedals, and 3 of my cymbals), and because of the poor choice of location the audience was almost non-existent. Let's hope that next year things are considerably better.
Also thanks to KMB for asking me to sit in on percussion for them this year. KMB is a very talented songwriting duo and I was quite happy to sit down and work out drum and percussion lines for them. Over the course of 3 long practices and one week I listened to their needs and came up with parts for 15 of their songs. Then I threw them all away when I had to play on a 4 piece kit, down 4 toms and all my auxiliary percussion. Oh well, get in what you can I suppose! - Isaac
