Bahai in aller Welt feiern den 191 Geburtstag Bahaullahs
Die Baháà feiern in diesem Jahr weltweit den 191 Geburtstag von Baháulláh, dem Stifter der BaháÃ-Religion. Seine Vision von der Menschheit als einem Volk und der Erde als einem Land wurde vor mehr als 100 Jahren von den Führern der Welt missachtet, heute jedoch richten sich die Hoffnungen vieler Menschen auf diese Vision.
Der Zusammenbruch von Werten und der gesellschaftlichen Ordnung, die Baháulláh mit erschreckender Deutlichkeit voraussah, vollzieht sich unerbittlich.
Geboren am 12. November 1817 in Persien, setzte Baháulláh im Alter von 27 Jahren eine Bewegung in Gang, die heute das Bewusstsein von Millionen prägt über 5 Millionen Menschen aus praktisch allen Rassen, Kulturen, Klassen und Nationen der Erde sind BaháÃ. Diese Erscheinung ist in der heutigen Welt ohne Beispiel.
„Baháulláh beansprucht nicht weniger, als der Träger einer göttlichen Botschaft zu sein, welche die Verheißungen der früheren Religionen erfüllt und das geistige Kraftfeld für die Vereinigung der Völker dieser Welt schafft, erklärt Bernhard Westerhoff von der Deutschen Bahai-Gemeinde. „Aber auch wenn wir diesen Anspruch erstmal beiseite lassen allein die Wirkung, die Baháulláhs Lehren und Wirken bisher hatten, fordern die Aufmerksamkeit eines jeden, der daran glaubt, dass der Mensch ein geistiges Wesen ist,
»Sei freigebig im Glück und dankbar im Unglück.
Sei des Vertrauens deines Nächsten wert und schaue hellen und freundlichen Auges auf ihn.
Sei ein Schatz dem Armen, ein Mahner dem Reichen, eine Antwort auf den Schrei des Bedrückten und halte dein Versprechen heilig.
Sei gerecht in deinem Urteil und behutsam in deiner Rede.
Sei zu keinem Menschen ungerecht, sondern erweise allen Sanftmut.
Sei wie ein Lampe für die, so im Dunkeln gehn, eine Freude den Betrübten, ein Meer für die Dürstenden, ein schützender Port für die Bedrängten, Stütze und Verteidiger für das Opfer der Unterdrückung.
Laß Sauberkeit und Redlichkeit all dein Handeln auszeichnen.
Sei eine Heimat dem Fremdling, ein Balsam dem Leidenden, dem Flüchtling ein starker Turm.
Sei dem Blinden Auge und ein Licht der Rechtleitung für den Fuß des Irrenden.
Sei ein Schmuck für das Antlitz der Wahrheit, eine Krone für die Stirn der Treue, ein Pfeiler für den Tempel der Redlichkeit, der Lebenshauch dem Körper der Menschheit, ein Banner für die Heerscharen der Gerechtigkeit, ein Himmelslicht am Horizont der Tugend, Tau für den Urgrund des Menschenherzens, eine Arche auf dem Meer der Erkenntnis, eine Sonne am Himmel der Gnade, ein Stein im Diadem der Weisheit, ein strahlendes Licht am Firmament deiner Zeitgenossen, eine Frucht am Baume der Demut.

Tea Tree Snapper comp 2008.
Our plan was to launch off Corinella but with 30 knot winds we thought we were blown out of the game all together.
We casually made our way there to check it out anyway. South westerly blowing right up the bay
we were not up for that in a 14 foot tinny. Then I thought of Rhyll, I've never launched there
but hopefully there was enough shelter from off shore winds, we can at least fish in fairly close
and be in for a chance haha. A CHANCE!!

In May 2008, after Ashlie graduated from Nursing School, we took a vacation to the sunny tropical isle of Kaua'i, Hawaii. While there, we fulfilled an adventure we had dreamed of for years, to skydive over Hawaii.
This is a short film of that adventure.
We drove to Port Allen Airfield to go skydiving with an outfitter called Skydive Kauai. After a quick briefing of procedures and details of how the jump would happen, we boarded a small green airplane. We flew to approx. 10,000 feet before the cabin door was opened. I jumped first followed by Ashlie. After a 30 second freefall in which we descended 5,000 feet, our chutes were deployed and we enjoyed a 10 minute descent back to earth, directly over the southwest coast of the island.
