Part 1 Summary: Marcie, Blair, Starr, Dorian and Michael find out why the baby died-and that Bonner blames herself for a misdiagnosis. Dorian is royally peeved. Jared and Natalie connect over the miracle that Jessica's baby is alive. Dr. Bonner hypnotizes Jessica and talks to Bess. She doesn't give up much information, and wants Bonner to send Jessica back to her newborn. Tess is also brought out in hypnosis and demands to know what the doctor is going to do about the fact that Jessica was given the wrong baby. John and Nora tell Marty even more details about Todd's exploits, including how he aided "Tess" and didn't do anything proactive to help Natalie. Nora goes to the hospital on business and Marty and John share a meal and finally, a light momentwhich Blair wlaks in on. After running into Viki in the nursery, Starr looks at her own baby unknowingly. Marcie faces the fact she must plan the baby's funeral. Viki confronts and derides Todd who cannot defend his actions. At a total loss, he eyes the gun in his guard's holster. And then there is a gunshot in the hospital.
